Antonello Murgia was born in Cagliari. He studied theater at the Academy of Dramatic Arts of Genoa. In 2002, he made his acting/musical debut in a play by Molière at the International Festival of Mediterranean Arts in Genoa, and then embarked on five long sailing tours as part of a project entitled Teatri di mare (Theaters of the Sea), visiting the ports of the Mediterranean.
In 2004, he met Fabio Marceddu (actor, playwright, director), with whom he founded, in Cagliari, the company Teatro dallarmadio, which obtained important awards and prizes, including the first prize at the International Festival of Lugano and several times that of the Palio Ermo Colle.
In 2011, he turns to cinema, participating for 3 years in the Academy of the Film Institute Michelangelo Antonioni of Busto Arsizio. His short film BEEP, meets enthusiastic praise in festivals and is selected at the 71st Venice Film Festival in the Francesco Pasinetti section, dedicated to short films. The film received several awards, including the Jury Prize at the Musa Festival, awarded by the critic Paolo Mereghetti.Antonello.
